You are welcome to arrange your own air travel, but we are happy to assist with any transport needs upon your arrival.

Do I need to arrange for my own airport pickups?
No, our safari packages include airport pickup and drop-off.
How many people can/will be in one vehicle?
Our 4×4 Land Cruiser safari vehicles comfortably seat up to 4 passengers, ensuring everyone has a window seat. For larger groups, we can accommodate up to 6 passengers per vehicle.

Preparing for Your Safari

Do I need vaccines?

Yes, vaccinations may be required depending on your country of origin. We recommend consulting your local health department for the latest guidelines, including requirements for malaria and yellow fever vaccinations.

Do I need a visa?
For most travelers, a visa is required for entry into Tanzania and Kenya. You can obtain a visa upon arrival, or apply in advance through the respective consulate or embassy.
What kind of safari clothes should I pack?
Comfortable, casual clothing is recommended. Neutral colors are best for game drives, and don’t forget a warm jacket for early mornings and evenings. A wide-brimmed hat is essential for sun protection.
What about insurance?
We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance that covers trip cancellations, medical emergencies, and baggage. Be sure to secure your insurance before you depart.
What kind of insurance should I take out for my safari trip?
Comprehensive travel insurance is a must. It should cover medical emergencies, trip cancellations, and personal property.

While on Safari

What does a typical day on safari look like?
Your day will start early with a game drive, followed by a mid-morning brunch. Afternoons are reserved for rest, and late afternoon drives will be accompanied by sundowners and snacks. Evenings feature dinner in a lodge or under the stars.
What do I need to bring on safari?
Essentials include sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, a camera with a zoom lens, binoculars, and any personal toiletries or medications.
Can I smoke while on safari?

Smoking is not allowed in the safari vehicles. However, we can schedule regular stops for those who need a break.

What security precautions should I take on safari?

Keep a record of important documents like your passport and tickets, and avoid carrying valuables. Use safes at the lodges where possible.

How much luggage can I take on safari?
Luggage is limited to one soft bag per person, with a maximum weight of 10 kg (22 lbs). Camera gear is not included in this limit.
Are meals included?
Yes, most itineraries include three meals a day. Special dietary requests can be accommodated if informed in advance.
What if I have special dietary needs?
Let us know in advance, and we will do our best to cater to your dietary requirements.
Will this be a private or shared safari?
Unless otherwise requested, safaris are shared, with up to 4 passengers per vehicle. Private safari options are available upon request.
What level of difficulty is the trip?
A safari can be physically demanding due to the heat and long drives, but rest periods are built into each day.
Are children allowed?
Yes, children are welcome on safari, though parents should consider the long drives and unfamiliar foods that might challenge younger travelers.
Is alcohol included or available?
Alcohol is not included in the package but is available for purchase at most lodges and camps.
What other expenses should I expect?
Apart from your safari package, you may want to budget for personal items, souvenirs, and gratuities for staff.
What is the typical number of people on a safari in the bush?
Our lodges and camps are small and intimate, accommodating between 16 and 24 guests. Larger lodges may have up to 100 rooms.
Who handles my laundry?
Most lodges offer laundry services.
Is bottled water supplied, or should I bring my own?
Bottled water is provided at all camps, lodges, and in safari vehicles.
What camera equipment is essential for safari?

A camera with a good zoom lens and a pair of binoculars are essential for capturing the wildlife.

Are medical supplies available?
It’s best to bring any prescription medications with you, though local towns and cities have pharmacies for common items.
Are there doctors available?
Doctors are available in nearby towns, but many safaris take place far from immediate medical care.
Are there hospitals nearby?
While hospitals are available in towns and cities, they may be far from the safari camp.

Can I feed the wild animals?
No, feeding wild animals is strictly prohibited and dangerous.
What should I do with my valuables?
Travel with minimal valuables, and use safes at lodges where possible.
Is Africa safe for travel?
While cities require normal precautions, safari destinations are generally safe. Be vigilant and avoid dangerous areas in cities, just as you would anywhere else.

Do the vehicles allow for periodic pit stops?
Yes, regular stops for refreshments and bathroom breaks are planned during the drives.

Is there internet access on safari?
Some lodges and camps offer internet access, though it may be limited in more remote areas.

Are gratuities included?
Gratuities are not included. Consider tipping lodge staff and your guide based on your satisfaction.
